After all, things change, so do cities. People come into your life and they go. But it's comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart...and if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.

DIERKS!

Drew took me to the Padres vs. Marlins game last night. Most importantly, Dierks Bentley made a little guest appearance for a concert after!!!

Great seats...no foul balls though! Drew was ready to catch one with our popcorn bucket.

You can see our building right through the middle!

Trevor Hoffman retirement celebration today.

Our new friends. Probably the worst picture ever haha.

Setting up the stage for Dierks!!

Yeyyyyy!

Drew pretending to be Dierks...I see the resemblance!

What a great game to see!! Padres dominated 14-1. Dierks was awesome as well! He even said that he had been hanging out in our very own stomping grounds in **PB** during the day!

Coronado love

We had  such a nice relaxing weekend! It felt so weird spending a whole weekend with Drew...we have hardly seen each other in the last month.

Saturday- ran errands during the day then hung out at the apartment and relaxed at night (shark week + Drew made tacos+ watching the planes fly in).

Sunday- were a couple of beach bums at Coronado, used a gift certificate for Taste & Thirst for dinner.

I made the mistake of using a spend $45 get $25 off coupon at a sports type bar with only 2 of us. Ha! As you can see, we had to order A TON of food to get the discount.

It was OK though- the food was great and we will be able to eat leftovers for a few days!

It's exciting to know that I'll have weekends off from here on out! Yippee!

All business

My stack of books for Year 1 of Nursing School...

As you can see I will be reading my days away!

Good thing I can go to the pool or beach everyday to study :)

The Bird is Not the Word

The maintenance guy came back today with the window specialist. They determined that it was not a bird that hit the window because there was no point of impact where the glass split off. Instead, he guessed that our building shifted which put pressure on the frame which caused the glass to shatter.

It will take them about a week to replace it.

Who would have thought?

Anywho, I have the weekend off and only have 4 days of work left! I am looking forward to spending some time with Drew!

P.S. I finally got everything settled with registering and am officially enrolled in 12 credits!! Yippee!

Updates to come!

Bird is the Word

I was jolted awake this fine morning by a huge crash in our living room.

When I went to investigate, this is what I found...

There is no other explanation than that a bird flew into it.

The maintenance guy came and was shocked, he said it was strange because there are 2 sheets of glass and the inside sheet was the one that shattered. He believes it could have been caused by the vibration of the impact on the outer sheet.

Ugh, a mystery. Super strange.

I love Harry Potter

I was able to drag Drew to Harry Potter with me. I still think he only came because he thinks Hermoine is hot :)

My first 3D movie!

Neville Longbottom: My hero.

Optimus Prime: my other hero.

Harry Potter: my imaginary bff

Just a couple of nerds

I can't wait to see it again!

Good Experience

Unfortunately, a fellow med techer at work had appendicitis and had to get emergency surgery.

Fortunately, I get to work his 3 days a week for the month.

Unfortunately or Fortunately, that means I am working 6-7 days a week this month and the first 2 weeks of next month. Ugh.

I am finally starting to feel like a pro and am gaining a lot of experience going into school!!

Exciting stuff :)

Work

It's official!! I put in my notice to work today. My last day will be Friday, August 12th. That gives me a week to relax/prepare before school starts.

I am both excited and sad....it will be hard to leave all my little grandmas but I am READY for the next chapter of my life to begin!

Sooooo, I am working 6 days a week through July and probably those 2 weeks in August.

I doubt I will have many updates in the coming days.

4th of July!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th! We had such a great time but sadly, our final day went by way too fast!

Morning- La Jolla

Afternoon- Pacific Beach

Flagged down the ice cream man!

The beach was packed! Barely found a place to camp out.

The kids had a great time digging holes with Drew :)

Night- Embarcadero  for Fireworks.

Super cool fireworks, easily the best I've ever seen! Some of the others in our group said the same. We sat across the street from the Star of India pirate ship and were able to see 3 different sets of fireworks. It was awesome because they were all synchronized.

After the fireworks, we ate at a place called Los Panchitos next to the hotel. The others weren't very impressed by what they ordered but my rolled tacos were AWESOME.

It's always hard to say goodbye again and again. Especially when I don't know when I'll be home again....I am shooting for Thanksgiving!

Planking

So apparently no one informed me about a world phenomenon called "Planking". In case you aren't in the loop like me, it is when you lie flat on your stomach and try to lie flat as a board (hence the name planking) in the strangest places you can think of. A google search provided Drew and I with a ridiculous amount of entertainment. We decided to do a couple of our own planks today.

Jenny- "Cactus Plank"

Drew- "Rose Plank"

Mom's birthday trip: Day 4

Today was definitely my favorite day of festivities so far!

We started off the day at Balboa Park. I knew Mom would love it because it has so many gardens!

Nice picture of Mom in the Rose Garden.

Peppermint Rose?

We spent most of the day at SEA WORLD.  I loved Sea World, I think it is the bee's knees. We saw some great shows and the animals were so cool.

Shamu show. "One Ocean" Life changing-would watch it everyday if I could. Seriously, like super cool. I think I liked it more than the kiddies.

New exhibit. "Turtle Reef" Super cool had Nemo and Dori fish too.

Beluga whale.

Nice sunset/night pic of the Palm trees.

Sea Lions at night intro. Hilarious, this is supposed to be a guy dancing to Katy Perry's "California Girls".

Doing sweet tricks.

Sky Tower at night.

Penguinos!

Super cool Sea Lion. Would talk to us and wave his fin to give him more fish. Then, he would catch one in his mouth and juggle it.

Loving the Shamu show.
