After all, things change, so do cities. People come into your life and they go. But it's comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart...and if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.

4th of July!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th! We had such a great time but sadly, our final day went by way too fast!

Morning- La Jolla

Afternoon- Pacific Beach

Flagged down the ice cream man!

The beach was packed! Barely found a place to camp out.

The kids had a great time digging holes with Drew :)

Night- Embarcadero  for Fireworks.

Super cool fireworks, easily the best I've ever seen! Some of the others in our group said the same. We sat across the street from the Star of India pirate ship and were able to see 3 different sets of fireworks. It was awesome because they were all synchronized.

After the fireworks, we ate at a place called Los Panchitos next to the hotel. The others weren't very impressed by what they ordered but my rolled tacos were AWESOME.

It's always hard to say goodbye again and again. Especially when I don't know when I'll be home again....I am shooting for Thanksgiving!

Planking

So apparently no one informed me about a world phenomenon called "Planking". In case you aren't in the loop like me, it is when you lie flat on your stomach and try to lie flat as a board (hence the name planking) in the strangest places you can think of. A google search provided Drew and I with a ridiculous amount of entertainment. We decided to do a couple of our own planks today.

Jenny- "Cactus Plank"

Drew- "Rose Plank"

Mom's birthday trip: Day 4

Today was definitely my favorite day of festivities so far!

We started off the day at Balboa Park. I knew Mom would love it because it has so many gardens!

Nice picture of Mom in the Rose Garden.

Peppermint Rose?

We spent most of the day at SEA WORLD.  I loved Sea World, I think it is the bee's knees. We saw some great shows and the animals were so cool.

Shamu show. "One Ocean" Life changing-would watch it everyday if I could. Seriously, like super cool. I think I liked it more than the kiddies.

New exhibit. "Turtle Reef" Super cool had Nemo and Dori fish too.

Beluga whale.

Nice sunset/night pic of the Palm trees.

Sea Lions at night intro. Hilarious, this is supposed to be a guy dancing to Katy Perry's "California Girls".

Doing sweet tricks.

Sky Tower at night.

Penguinos!

Super cool Sea Lion. Would talk to us and wave his fin to give him more fish. Then, he would catch one in his mouth and juggle it.

Loving the Shamu show.

Mom's birthday trip: Day 3

Today, was a LONG but very fun day!

We started out at Legoland. It was so cool, both the kids and adults really enjoyed it.

My life is complete. Lego Harry Potter.

Kid at heart.

Edward Cullen's car made of legos.

4 year old on the road....watch out!

In. Heaven.

Mini-Vegas. So cool!

MiniLand- New York

Star Wars Land...pretty cool, even though I had no idea what any of it meant. Drew loved it. Strange right?

Lego-ed out.

Next, we pushed past the exhaustion and 90 degree weather and headed over to the Wild Animal Park in Escondido.

It was a unique kind of zoo experience and was really fun too but we decided that we enjoyed the ZOO yesterday better.

Baby Elephant- so cute!!

Baby Gorilla! Even cuter!

I thought all flamingos were pink? Apparently, there are white ones too!
